North Bay League (NBL) Badminton 2019

As of 2019 SCL is formally dissolved and NBL returns to two divisions as determined by the NCS Alignment Committee. SCL Badminton teams are now part of NBL. NBL 1 (aka "Oak") badminton comprises Analy, Maria Carillo, Montgomery, Santa Rosa, and Windsor. NBL 2 (aka "Redwood") badminton comprises Elsie Allen, Healdsburg, Piner, Roseland University Prep, and Roseland Collegiate Prep. The official NBL Page includes other NBL sports. As of January 2019 Elsie Allen and RCP dropped out leaving only 8 teams total so the NBL is recombined into a single league.

League Competition

For both divisions, there is a inter-divisional competition followed by an in-league double round-robin.

All coaches please send in results (all matches including JV and exhibition) directly after meets. Any format is fine- fax/email/mms /hardcopy dropped at Stan's house or even snail mail to Stan (ask if you don't know where). Easiest (probably): point your phone at the final scoresheet, snap a picture, and email or text it to me (stan@worldbadminton.com).

Post-Season

Selection of NCS team - tournaments played to completion. Top 4 players/teams from each division go on to NCS. Round Robin events are decided using USAB standard (matches, then games, then points). NOTE that these tournaments are to select the best players and are NOT the place for others to get court time.

  - Starting in 2012 NCS and hence NBL split into Division I and Division II based strictly on school enrollment.
  - Starting in 2015 NBL Division II schools moved into SCL while Division I schools stayed with NBL. This transition is highlighted by the Press Democrat in a 12 March 2015 article.
  - For the 2019 season SCL is dissolved and the former NBL Division 1 and 2 structure is resurrected modeled initially after the NCS Div1 and Div 2, but modified to emphasize team strength rather than just school enrollment. NBL 1 (aka "Oak") badminton comprises Analy, Maria Carillo, Montgomery, Santa Rosa, and Windsor. NBL 2 (aka "Redwood") badminton comprises Elsie Allen, Healdsburg, Piner, Roseland University Prep, and Roseland Collegiate Prep. Additionally Petaluma and Casa Grande leave NBL and join VVAL.
  - As of January 2019, Oak and Redwood are merged into a single NBL League since Elsie Allen and RCP teams are disbanded.
