A.Kaul/S.Deng(2) 15-8,15-4 Highlights At age 34, Denyse Julien becomes the first Canadian to win a Triple Crown twice at the National Championships. The last time she did it was in 1989. Jaimie Dawson was unstoppable in men's singles. He gave up only 27 points in 5 matches. 1989 Champion John Goss upset a 5/8 seed first round and almost upset second seeded Wang Wen. He was up 12-6 in the third game. Prize Money was awarded to the winners for the first time in addition to Timex watches and medals. A "Murder Mystery" was held during the closing banquet to the surprise of all the competitors. I ended up being the murderer, killing my fellow Glencoe Club Badminton Pro Channarong Ratanaseangsuang along with others. Yours truly, Ken Poole
