Badminton in Canada If you are travelling to or through Canada looking for places to play badminton, it's best to contact someone first. You won't find many clubs listed in the Yellow Pages. A common figure used in Canada for the number of players active and registered is 2,000,000. Many of these players play in school gyms after hours and many have no direct links to "organized" badminton associations. There are also approximately 35 clubs across the country with single purpose badminton courts; some are in multi-sport family clubs while others are strictly badminton clubs. The most active cities for badminton are (from west to east): Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City That's not to say that there isn't a club or clubs in the other cities and towns, because there certainly would be.
