Mary Ann Bowles

USBA Secretary.
Along with serving as USBA secretary, Mary Ann Bowles, of St. Louis, Mo., is the Midwest Region's representative to the USBA Board of Directors. She also serves as the secretary for the Midwest Region. Bowles served as Badminton Commissioner for U.S. Olympic Festival - '94 and was also the USBA's Membership Committee chair from 1989-1995.

Bowles is and avid badminton player, winner of many Senior titles in the Midwest, and holds one U.S. Senior title. As a certified USBA coach and National Umpire, she has conducted Midwestern badminton camps, YMCA classes, and umpire certification clinics. She was a coach/manager for U.S. Olympic Festival -"90, '91, and '93. Bowles is director and co-founder of the 11-year-old St. Louis Classic. She currently coaches new junior and adult badminton players in St. Louis. Bowles co-authored the USBA Club Handbook and has published numerous badminton articles in regional and national publications.

Since badminton's successful showing at USOF - '94 in St. Louis, Bowles has assisted her husband Russ in the development of a regionally funded junior badminton program and the organization of a new adult level recreational program. She is a classroom teacher of Family and Consumer Sciences in the Northwest R-1 school district near St. Louis.
