McPeak played an instrumental role in raising the sport of volleyball to a level of national prominence in the United States. During his term as Associate and Executive Director from 1979-1991, McPeak developed and managed the U.S. Volleyball Association's corporate participation program and negotiated sponsorship contracts with such notable companies as Anhauser Busch, Ford Motor Company, General Foods, and Russel Athletics. Prior to his joining the USBA, McPeak served as President of the Sport Court of Colorado, and was an Account Representative with Management Recruiters in Colorado Springs.
An Ohio native, McPeak received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Miami (OH) University, and his Ph.D. in physical education from the Ohio State University in 1978.
