FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 8, 1996 WO, TENG AND SCHOLL BIG WINNERS AT 1996 YONEX U.S. JUNIOR NATIONAL BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS (COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- After four days of hard hitting, fast paced, and exciting badminton action at the 1996 Yonex U.S. Junior Nationals at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga., (April 4-7, 1996) Stanley Wo (Daly City, Calif.), Angela Teng (Pasadena, Calif.), and Adam Scholl (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), emerged as the big winners. Wo and Teng won the triple crown (singles, doubles, and mixed doubles) in the Under-21 bracket and Scholl in Under-12. Wo, a full time resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., defeated the two top seeded players in boy's singles on his way to the throne. In the U-21 girl's singles final she defeated Lily Chen (Stanford, Calif.) in two straight sets 11-6, 11-3. Then, the two paired up to win the girl's doubles title by defeating Janae Bennett (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Kuharski 11-7, 11-3.
