1996 COLLEGIATE ALL-AMERICAN AND NORTHEAST COLLEGIATE REGIONAL BADMINTON
TEAMS SELECTED

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- Based on tournament results from the 1995/96
season the Collegiate Badminton All-American Committee has announced the
undergraduate badminton players who have earned a spot on the College
All-American Team and the Northeast Collegiate Regional Team.

The Washington, D.C. duo Nicholas Pelligrini (George Washington University)
and Juliana Omelegah (Howard University) were almost automatic additions to
the two teams since they were big winners at the Collegiate Nationals held in
Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, February 18.  Both captured two gold medals,
 Pelligrini in men's doubles (partner: Jayson Casper, GWU) and mixed doubles
(partner: Donna McGee, Bryn Mawr College), Omelegah in women's singles and
doubles (partner: Dawn Alexander, HU).  Shariq Kajiji (College of Wooster)
was another dominating player at the Collegiate Nationals as he won men's
singles and took silver in men's doubles with partner Orion Kriegman (Bryn
Mawr College).

The following players were selected for the 1996 All-American Badminton Team:

In addition to the All-American Team the 1996 Northeast Collegiate Regional
Badminton Team was also announced based on results from the 1995/96 season.  

The following players were selected for the 1996 Northeast Collegiate
Regional Badminton Team:
