2009 NCS Badminton Tournament Notes
16 May 2009 - Piner High School - notes based on 2000 tournament
Logistics
  - Set up of gym
    
      - NCS will pay gym rental. Marie will work with Nate to reserve gym.
 
      - Bleachers - 1 set
 
      - Scoring Table - 2 tables
 
      - Ticket Selling
 
      - Ticket Taking ( can use black light ) NBL has them - person between
        gyms
 
      - Which courts will be available - avoid adjacent doubles if possible.
        Some courts better for singles. Courts in other gym.
 
      - Dressing room facilities - have kids come in through front entrance
        after dressing and stamp them. Requires open doors to locker rooms
 
      - T-shirt sales

      - Tables - 2 long, one short
 
      - PA System ( Walter looking at portable system )
 
      - Match numbers ( Stan will check on numbers from last time )
 
      - Pencils/Pens - ( Mary )
 
      - Scoresheets - scoreboards

      - Brackets will be set up by Paul Weiss ( Newark Memorial )
 
      - Concessions - Piner Boosters ( Stan will talk to boosters about food
        for Badminton - bagels, bananas, spring rolls, fried rice, etc )
 
    
   
Coaches Meeting
  - Collect coaches certification forms
 
  - Reminders - coaches need to remind players of these
    
      - Uniforms
 
      - No one on courts other than players and scorekeepers
 
      - No water or water bottles
 
      - Scorekeeper ( only one )
 
      - Linespersons - required only on consolation and championship finals.
        Will ask fro volunteers when needed for any matches
 
      - Coaches drawing for umpires if needed
 
      - Five minute default time
 
      - Five minute warmup time
 
      - Reminder of sportsmanship and ejection policy - swearing, throwing
        rackets, breaking rackets merits disqualification
 
      - Coaching only between second and third game- players must come off the
        court. No coaches or spectators on the court unless officiating
 
    
   
  - Any changes in the brackets - scratches or alternates
