INDONESIAN SINGLES ACES RETURN TO ACTION IN THAILAND
by Mike Grossman

November 12, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - Indonesia's top badminton singles players return to action in this week's major international tournament in Thailand. After several months of being held out of the international circuit while their high-potential second-stringers were being given the chance to make their mark on the world stage, the Indonesian aces are being fielded at the Thailand Open to solidify their positions for the upcoming World Grand Prix Finals.

Joko Suprianto and Allan Busi Kusuma are entered in the Thailand Open. Joining Suprianto and Kusuma in Thailand is Ardy Wiranata who is on the mend after a career-threatening bout with hepatitis.

Other top singles players entered in the tournament include Dong Jiong of China, Rashid Sidek and Ong Ewe Hock of Malaysia, Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen of Denmark, and Kim Hak Kyun of Korea.

In women's singles, Susi Susanti is entered and will again be playing singles in an international tournament after a layoff of several months and two tournaments as a doubles player. She is joined by other top players like compatriot Mia Audina, Wang Chen of China and Kim Ji Hyun of Korea.
