by Mike Grossman (from a report filed by YANG YANG BAdminton Equipment)

December 27, 1996 (New Shuttlenws) - Aras Triadji, the senior men's singles coach of the Indonesian national badminton squad passed away yesterday afternoon in Malang, Southern Java. Coach Triadji died of heart failure.

The Indonesian coach, aged 46, was one of the instrumental architects behind Indonesian successes in recent years and trained many of Indonesia's crop of top men's singles players like the current world number one Joko Suprianto.

Coach Triadji's sudden death puts another crimp in the Indonesian coaching ranks. Senior men's doubles coach Christian Hadinata and senior women's singles coach Tong Hsien Fu had earlier in the month expressed their intention to leave the national squad.

Head coach Indra Gunawan and senior women's doubles coach Imelda Kurniawan remain with the team.
