Club Status

Membership

The new season starts in mid-September 2010 and ends in late May 2011. The exact dates will be confirmed by the School Board.

The club operates every Monday and Wednesday evening from 19:00 to 22:00, except when the school is closed.

The membership cost will be $110 per member. For returning members who pay ON or BEFORE June 1, 2010, the cost will be $100.

The guest fee is $5 per evening. Guests will be eligible to play if there are fewer than 33 members playing. If a 33rd member arrives, a guest will be asked to leave and will receive a refund.

  • Item: Planning for next season

    Please note that returning members should pay for their 2010 membership on or before JUNE 1st 2010 to qualify for the reduced membership fee. In previous years, membership fees were not due until September.

About Our Club

The Hillcrest Badminton Club has been operating in Ottawa for over 30 years. We provide a friendly environment for exercise and competition for players of various ages and skill levels.

Play is on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 19:00 until 22:00. All games are doubles, unless numbers permit otherwise. A game wheel is used to ensure that everyone has a fair share of court time and to mix-up the pairings from game to game. We supply the yellow Yonex Mavis 300 brand of shuttle.

We use the 21-point scoring system. This diagram describes the system.

Club Location

We use the well-lit 4-court gym at Hillcrest High School, 1900 Dauphin Road.

The school is in the south-east corner of Ottawa, just off of Smyth Road.

Parking and entrances are on the north side of Hillcrest High School, facing Smyth road.

We play in the upper large gymnasium: enter through the doors, turn to your left, go up the stairs, go through the doors on the next level, and turn right.

When registration is open, you can join by printing and completing the Registration Form, then sending the form and your cheque to:
